The Alchemist’s Feather now live at PodCastle
I finally had time to listen to my story, “The Alchemist’s Feather” on PodCastle today.
I usually get nervous about this sort of thing. It’s not that I’ve ever been let down before by a reading (far from it!) but…it’s always nerve wracking to hear your own words. It’s like listening to your own voicemail messages. It’s you, but it’s not you, and the gap between is the uncanny valley of the soul.
I am super pleased to say though that this reading by Dave Thompson is amazing, and the intro and outro by Alasdair Stuart are fantastic. I’m completely thrilled. (There was squee-ing. A lot.)

The first of the wedding pix :D

So as you may or may not recall, Paul and I had a 1950′s science fiction themed wedding
. We haven’t gotten our photographer’s photos back yet, but here at some of the shots that friends took
Our cake was fantastic!

My dress was gorgeous

Some of our friends had to fight off alien invasions!

But mostly everyone got along
You can see all the pix that we currently have here, and I’ll make another post when the super mushy pro ones hit the internet
.

Sale! Cruciger to Escape Pod!
My Writers of the Future story “Cruciger” sold to Escape Pod! Hoorays!
(And on that note, between this and the sale of Alchemist’s Feather to Podcastle, I’d best be finding my shuffle sometime soon. I shouldn’t be trusted with electronics that small. Now that i’m going to the gym with my post-wedding free time, i miss it.)

Reprint Sale – The Alchemist’s Feather to Podcastle!
I got the news on this a bit before the wedding, and was so spazzy I forgot to record it here!
I loved Beneath Ceaseless Skies’ podcast version of it — I can’t wait to hear what Podcastle has in store

Wedding and Wiscon (and points in between)
Our wedding was fantastic
. I’ll share some pictures here when we get them back — but we both had a lot of fun, tons of people dressed up, and it all went by too fast
. Now I get to be married to my best friend in the world, and the thrill of shouting “Wonder Twin Powers Activiate!” while putting our left hands out has not yet gone away.
A few days afterward I went to Vegas with girlfriends on a pre-planned girls trip for four days, then met up with Paul on the way to Niagara Falls, where our hotel room had an astounding view of the Falls. Then we drove over to Wiscon, and spent the rest of our honeymoon in lovely Madison Wisconsin with a few hundred of our closest friends
. Travel delays kept us from getting home till today, but now the litter box is cleaned and the clothes are in the wash. A day of relaxing, a Prince of Persia matinee tomorrow, and then back to work on Friday night.
